Building a skincare routine can be overwhelming, especially when brands are launching products on monthly basis. While we can’t build individual routines for everyone, we can try simplify the process.
Building a skincare routine
Building a skincare routine doesn’t have to be tedious or complicated. The core of any skincare routine revolves around three things: cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen. Yup, you read that right. You only really need those three items to have a wholesome routine. Ten-step routines are not a necessity, they’re just an indulgence. Your skin will do just fine without three different toners.
Now that you have a solid foundation, and have identified your three core products, let’s discuss personalizing your routine. This is where it’s important to identify your skin issues. This includes anything from acne to hyperpigmentation, to fine lines. Once you know what you want to target, adding a treatment becomes easy. For example, if you’re dealing with hyperpigmentation, adding a vitamin C serum in your AM routine is a simple way to address it.
If your budget permits, you can also alternate treatments. Creating an AM routine and a PM routine isn’t necessary, but it’s a nice way to target various skin issues. For example, in the morning, we like to use hydrating ingredients like hyaluronic acid. In the evening, we like to use our chemical exfoliants and retinoids.
When it comes to toner and eye creams, we consider them to be optional. You can choose to expand your core products to include either, but that all depends on your skin and your budget. If you choose to omit, we promise your skin will survive. Make sure to check out our recent YouTube video to learn more!
