Fair warning, your shopping basket is going to be full after this post. (Tatcha doesn’t take skin lightly.)
We normally try to be select and create a short top fave products to buy, but with Tatcha, we just couldn’t seem to nail it down to 3-4 of products—we loved everything.
The Pure and the Deep Cleanse
Tatcha offers two different cleansers—the Pure One Step Camellia Cleansing Oil ($58) and the Deep Cleanse ($46)—which can be used separately or together for a 2-step cleansing system. The Camellia Cleansing Oil is meant to be both a makeup remover and a cleanser, so for the simple skincare lovers out there, this is truly a one-step process. The formula is infused with the Geisha-favorite Japanese camellia oil. It’s full of vitamins A, B, D, and E, as well as omegas 3-6-9—all of which support, nourish, and hydrate the skin and its natural barriers. Most importantly, it’s a non-comodogenic oil (doesn’t clog pores). You need to try this for yourself to fully appreciate when we say it’s silky!
If you’re slightly apprehensive of oils, the Deep Cleanse is an oil-free gel cleanser that’s gentle enough for daily use. Some of the main ingredients include fruit extract (from the Japanese luffa fruit), which is high in linoleic and oleic acid, as well as vitamin A, B1, B2, B12, and C. The gentle and natural acids help increase cell turnover, which is a fancy way of saying they help you shed dead skin. Other ingredients like the Japanese wild rose and the Japanese leopard lily work to smooth, nourish, and reduce excess oil.
Polished and Radiant
The Rice Enzyme Powder ($78) was, if we remember correctly, one of the first products we noticed from Tatcha. We’ve talked about the benefits of rice in the past, and if you shy away from physical exfoliants, you need to try this super smooth and creamy polish. It’s a water-activated and infused with ingredients like rice and papaya enzymes for a full resurfacing (but gentle) experience. You can use it daily, but we prefer to use it 2-3x a week as a ritual with our other product, the Violet-C Radiance Mask ($79).
After we’ve polished our skin with the enzyme powder, we love applying the Radiance Mask for an extra boost of gorgeous skin. It targets dark spots and dull skin, which is backed by ingredients like vitamin C and 10% AHAs. It also has anti-aging properties (thanks to its rice-algae-green tea complex), but we saw more of a radiant-based difference versus wrinkle reduction. (Antioxidants, like the r-a-g complex mentioned prior, protects from damage instead of reversing it!) If you need a quick glow, this is the mask for you. Its effects are pretty instant and we’ve almost finished our jar (internal cry).
Three Step Ritual Worth Repeating
We came across the best and simplest 3-step ritual that we’ve been repeating over and over and over again: after cleansing, go in with the Essence Plumping Skin Softener ($114), follow-up with The Silk Cream ($144), and finish off with the Camellia Gold Spun Lip Balm ($36). We can only describe our skin as pure radiance and comfort—if you like to keep things simple, this is the routine for you.
The Essence is both a resurfacing and a hydrating toner (infused with their rice-algae-green tea complex), while the Silk Cream is protein-rich silky gel-cream that soothes and nourishes. The lip balm is simply luxurious with its 23-karat gold flakes!
