Brands we’ve been exploring in January

It’s the new year and we’re hard at work exploring the newest products and brands. Here’s a summary of what’s been on our desk the last few weeks!

Nothing like exploring a new brand or product, so check out the things we’ve been enjoying and you might just find your newest holy grail!

Rocky Mountain Soap

Rocky Mountain Soap is a Canadian-made all-natural brand, inspired, as its name suggests, by the great Canadian Rockies. (Which, by the way, we flew over for the first time over the weekend—amazing.) We’ve been testing out a few products and their body care line took the cake. The Vanilla Coconut Body Lotion ($20) smells as good as it sounds with its blend of Shea Butter and Coconut Oil (for maximum hydration). The formula is thick, but non-greasy and pairs incredibly well with their Vanilla Coconut Sugar Scrub ($25). We’re very specific when it comes to our body scrubs, and this one has the right balance of oils and grain. Seriously, your skin will be in total heaven after these two!

Nip+Fab is a long-time favorite, but we recently started exploring outside of their Glycolic Fix collection. You can find them at your local Shoppers Drug Mart and we highly recommend you don’t sleep on this effective, yet affordable, brand. Their No Needle Fix collection is a great anti-aging line that doesn’t carry the usual excessive price-tag. The No Needle Fix Serum ($19.95) has done wonders to our tired and dehydrated winter skin. Formulated with oat extract to soothe and cassia augustifolia (Asian herb) seed to hydrate, this is a great starting point for anyone looking for skin volume and line reduction.

Matrix Bioloage

When are we not exploring haircare collections? Matrix Biolage has been on our radar ever since we mistook the bottles for a new smoothie brand. The R.A.W. was created to deliver beautiful hair results, while being kind to the environment. (This is a motto we can stand-by!) We’ve been testing out the Color Care shampoo and conditioner, and it’s safe to say the coconut milk and meadowfoam-infused formula is being kind to our hair. One of us around here has bright Burgundy hair (colored, of course) and we’ve seen more shine and color-retention after using the two in combination! It also helps not having any silicone and sulfates to dry out our strands and irritate our scalps. We can’t wait to explore more of Matrix Biolage!

While we’re on the topic of hair, we also had the opportunity to explore LaCoupe’s Moroccan Rose Volume Loving hair-care line, which was created to infuse volume and shine in the weakest and thinnest of hair. Most importantly, the environment-friendly formulation is also an added bonus. The Moroccan Rose Volume Loving Shampoo and Conditioner (both $9.99) are now available at your local Walmart or Jean Coutu, and we highly recommend you take the time to explore this affordable collection—especially if you’re looking for shine, volume, and strength!
