Let’s be honest, we’re all talking about the sheer simplicity of Meghan Markle’s wedding makeup and dress—and we’re absolutely enamored with the whole thing. Best part, we just got word on some of the products they used for the big day.
Meghan Markle’s Wedding Makeup
Daniel Martin, a long-time MUA of hers and Dior ambassador, was behind the warm soft look Meghan wore down the aisle—and we have a list of the products used to achieve that same look. (We don’t have the full details, yet, but these products came directly from a Dior press release!)
We’re sad to say this won’t be available on June 15th on Sephora, but Daniel Martin used the Dior Backstage Face and Body Foundation to achieve a flawless and long-lasting base. We’re assuming, due to the low-cut of the dress, he worked the product down her shoulders for a seamless blend. Can you imagine how long that day must have been?! Not once did we notice any creasing or product moving around throughout the televised event—even with all the smiling! That says a lot and we’re excited to get our hands on this foundation! We’re not sure on dupes, since we haven’t tested it yet. But! Dior’s Diorskin Forever Perfect Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 35 ($64) might be similar with its matte finish and oil-free medium-to-full coverage that can wear for 16 hours.
Another product that was used, but that will only be available on June 15th on Sephora, is the Dior Backstage Contour Palette. We’re excited to hear more, but from the look of it, it’s a quad palette with various contour shades.
It’s most likely that Daniel Martin used another unreleased palette—the Dior Backstage Eye Palette—and the closest thing available would be the Dior Backstage Illuminating Neutrals Eye Palette in Warm Neutral 001 ($72) was used to achieve Meghan Markle’s soft eye-look. The shades are super subtle, but deliver just enough definition to enhance any eye-shape. It’s also super versatile, so we see why Daniel Martin went this route: it comes with a Base Primer shade, 4 neutral gradients, and one jetblack liner shade. (Everything you need for a sultry smokey eye without being over the top!) The palette is selling out quick on Sephora, but looks like the beautyboutique.ca still has some in stock.
Meghan Markle’s winged liner was subtle, but present enough to frame her eyes, and it looks like Daniel went for the brand new Diorshow On Stage Liquid Eyeliner ($35) in Matte Black. This is Dior’s newest flexible felt tip liner that glides on with major precision. We swatched these on Insta-Stories last night and the formula is beautiful!
As for mascara, those thick voluminous lashes couldn’t have come from anything but Dior’s Diorshow Iconic Mascara ($37). It was made for backstage vibes and red carpets, and the oblique cut brush gives an extra lash-curling effect—which we clearly saw on Meghan Markle’s lashes.
The simplest part of Meghan Markle’s wedding makeup, her lips were adorned with the super creamy and comfortable Dior Lip Glow in Coral Glow ($41). The Lip Glows are our fave releases and we always carry at least once shade in our bag at all times. It was a perfect choice for a beautiful day!
